Frequently Asked Questions
Don’t Be Shy
Your First Visit
What should I expect on my first visit?
From the moment you walk in, you are our focus. We will take a few minutes to learn about your skin, your concerns, and what you are hoping to achieve. Then we get to work — and we take our time. You will leave feeling cared for, relaxed, and beautiful.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for my appointment?
For facials, arrive with a clean face if possible — though we will cleanse your skin as part of the treatment. For sugaring or waxing, hair should be at least a quarter inch long (about 7 to 10 days of growth after shaving). For massages, just arrive and let us take care of the rest.
Is Lalla Skincare women only?
Yes. Our space is exclusively for women, ensuring a private, comfortable, and relaxing experience every time.
What is your most popular service?
Our Brazilian sugaring and waxing services are our most requested — and our clients will tell you why. The smoothest results, the most comfortable experience, and you will never want to go anywhere else.
Booking, Hours and Location
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online anytime at our booking link, or call us at (703) 814-3920 during business hours.
Do you take walk-ins?
We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time, as our schedule fills up quickly. That said, we always do our best to accommodate walk-ins when availability allows. Give us a call before stopping by and we will let you know.
How far in advance should I book?
For popular services like Brazilian sugaring and waxing, we recommend booking at least a week ahead. For facials and massages, a few days to a week is ideal.
What are your hours?
Monday 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm.
Where are you located?
We are at 841 N Jefferson St, Arlington, VA 22205 at the intersection of N Jefferson and Wilson Blvd.
Where do I park?
There are two dedicated parking spaces right in front of our entrance, plus plenty of free street parking nearby.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. For tipping, we prefer cash or Venmo. Payment is processed through Square for a smooth, secure checkout.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
24 hours advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
No-Shows Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a no-show. They will be charged for their missed appointment.
Late Arrivals If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the full session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time.
We look forward to serving you!
Products and Equipment
What products do you use?
We use Eminence Organic Skin Care for our botanical facials and IMAGE Skincare for clinical treatments and chemical peels. For hair removal we use Sharonelle natural soft and hard wax (Product of Canada), and Lalla's own handcrafted sugaring paste made in-house from sugar, lemon, and water. For nails we use Karma Organic and BioSeaweed Gel — clean, vegan, non-toxic systems that protect your natural nails while delivering beautiful results.
What equipment and technology do you use?
Our technology includes microcurrent for facial toning and lifting, professional microdermabrasion, hydrodermabrasion combining water exfoliation with oxygen therapy, dermaplaning, Dermatude Meta Therapy microneedling, and PDRN regenerative microneedling for advanced skin renewal. This is not your average spa. This is science meeting skincare.
Do you sell products?
Yes. We sell Lalla's handcrafted sugaring paste so you can maintain smooth skin at home between appointments. We also carry select skincare products — ask us what we currently have available.
I do not see the service I am looking for. Can you still help?
Very likely yes. Our menu covers our most popular services but it does not cover everything we can do. If you have a specific concern or are looking for something you do not see listed, just ask.
Sugaring and Waxing
What is the difference between sugaring and waxing?
Both remove hair from the root for long-lasting smoothness. Sugaring uses a natural paste made from sugar, lemon, and water — it is gentler on the skin and less likely to cause irritation. Lalla makes her sugaring paste by hand using her own recipe. Waxing uses a resin-based formula and is also highly effective. We offer both so you can choose what works best for your skin.
How long does hair need to be?
At least a quarter inch — about the length of a grain of rice, or roughly 7 to 10 days of growth after shaving. If it is longer, do not worry — we can trim it for you.
How long will I stay smooth?
Most clients see results lasting 3 to 6 weeks depending on hair growth. With regular sugaring, hair grows back finer and lighter over time.
Is sugaring painful?
Removing hair by the root is a bit uncomfortable, but most clients find sugaring easier to tolerate than waxing because the paste does not stick to live skin cells. We recommend taking two over-the-counter pain relievers about an hour before your appointment. By your third sugaring treatment, most clients find it virtually pain free.
Can I get sugared or waxed while pregnant?
Yes — sugaring is safe for expecting mothers. Please clear it with your doctor first, and let us know at booking so we can take extra care of you.
Can I get a Brazilian while on my period?
Yes. Menstruating does not affect the sugaring or waxing process. You may be slightly more sensitive to discomfort, but there is no need to reschedule — simply use a tampon during your appointment.
What is EpilaDerm and should I add it?
EpilaDerm is an enzyme-based hair reduction system applied immediately after sugaring or waxing. It inactivates the hair follicle over time, making future growth thinner, softer, and lighter. Less hair, less often.
I react to waxing with itchy bumps. Will sugaring do the same?
Those bumps are usually a histamine reaction. Sugaring is gentler and less likely to trigger this, but it can still happen. Taking an over-the-counter antihistamine 30 minutes before your appointment and applying cold compresses afterward can help significantly.
Facials and Skincare
How do I know which facial is right for me?
We will help you figure that out when you arrive. Every treatment is customized to your skin. If you are not sure, book a Classic Facial and we will assess your skin and recommend the best path forward.
How often should I get a facial?
Once a month is ideal for maintaining healthy, glowing skin. If you are addressing a specific concern like acne or hyperpigmentation, we may recommend more frequent visits at first.
Do all facials include extractions?
Yes. All of our facials include extractions.
Can I wear makeup after my facial?
We recommend waiting a few hours after your facial to let your skin breathe and absorb the treatment.
Chemical Peels
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel uses a carefully selected acid solution to exfoliate the top layers of skin, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. Peels are highly effective for treating aging, sun damage, acne, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.
Which peel is right for me?
Salicylic/Glycolic — best for acne-prone or oily skin. Organic Pumpkin — brightening and antioxidant boost. Perfection Peel — targets fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and uneven tone. Brightening Peel — for dull skin that needs a radiance reset. Not sure? We will help you choose when you arrive.
Is there any downtime after a peel?
Light peels require no downtime. You may experience some mild redness or flaking for a day or two. Sunscreen is a must for at least 48 hours after any peel.
Can I get a peel if I am on Accutane or Retin-A?
If you are currently taking Accutane, you cannot receive any professional exfoliation including peels for at least 6 months after stopping. If you use prescription topicals like Retin-A or Differin, please stop use on the treatment area for at least 3 months prior. Always let us know what medications and products you are using.
